A collection of light industrial buildings transformed into retail and community spaces has received top honours at the 2024 Gold Coast/Northern Rivers Regional Architecture Awards.
The Warehouses by J.AR Office won the Philip Follent Building of the Year and a Regional Commendation for Commercial Architecture. The jury praised the architects for their “skilful edits, fabric retention or removal, and sensitive use of colour and materials.”
Tallowwood Cabin by Fouché Architects was named Regional Project of the Year for its “skilful resolution of form and function.” The Grove by Jamison Architect won House of the Year for its “harmonious relationship with the site.”
Award winners and commendations will advance to the 2024 Queensland Architecture Awards, to be announced on June 21.
