A dramatic series of events unfolded yesterday afternoon as police apprehended four teenage boys allegedly involved in the theft and reckless operation of two luxury vehicles across Logan and the Gold Coast.
The incident began around 12:40 pm when a grey Maserati Grecale and a black Porsche Macan were reported stolen from a residence on Waitomo Street in Broadbeach Waters.
Police responded swiftly, spotting both vehicles travelling eastbound on the Logan Motorway.
A police helicopter commenced tracking the stolen cars as they headed southbound onto the M1 Motorway.
The pursuit came to a dramatic stop around 3:30 pm when the Maserati became stuck on a median strip at Cayuga Street in Nerang.
Officers quickly moved in and arrested the two occupants of the vehicle.
Shortly after, the Porsche came to a stop in Benalla Court at Arundel, where two additional teenage boys were apprehended by law enforcement.
Among the arrested individuals, a 15-year-old from Coomera faces charges including three counts of entering a dwelling and unlawful use of a motor vehicle, along with charges of dangerous operation of a vehicle, unlicensed driving, and possession of dangerous drugs.
Another 16-year-old from Oxenford is charged with multiple counts of unlawful vehicle use, entering a dwelling, dangerous driving, and driving without a license.
A third 15-year-old from Coomera has been charged with entering a dwelling and unlawful vehicle use, while a 16-year-old from Pimpama faces a single count of unlawfully using a motor vehicle.
All four suspects are scheduled to appear in the Southport Children’s Court today to face the charges brought against them, marking a swift response by law enforcement to address the alleged criminal activities.
