Meat & Livestock Australia (MLA) launched a comprehensive livestock transport information hub at the joint Queensland and Australian Livestock Transporters’ Associations’ National Conference in Toowoomba.
One-stop Hub for livestock transport information
In collaboration with stakeholders across the livestock transport supply chain, the MLA Transport hub will serve as a valuable resource for navigating regulations, roles, and responsibilities associated with livestock transport across Australia.
Sharon Dundon, MLA Project Manager for Animal Wellbeing, emphasised the proactive and collaborative nature of the hub, aiming to enhance understanding and ensure proper preparation of livestock for transport among all stakeholders in the supply chain.
The hub features detailed guidance on road transport of cattle, sheep, and goats throughout Australia, offering specific advice tailored to various animal classes along with links to pertinent resources.
By leveraging both new and existing resources, the hub empowers producers with tools to discern and adopt best practices in dispatching and receiving stock, using the latest industry trends, hands-on practical guidance, and scientific research.
