The Sunshine Coast is gearing up for a big enhancement in healthcare with the start of construction on the $100 million Maroochy Private Hospital.
Upgrade and Development of Maroochy Private Hospital
Fortius Health and Barwon Investment Partners will be developing the 10-storey Maroochy Private Hospital, spanning 11,876 square meters, which is set to offer a range of surgical specialities and comprehensive healthcare services.
From pain management to sports medicine and allied health, the facility aims to cater to diverse medical needs.
McNab’s founder and managing director, Michael McNab, expressed excitement about starting the construction of this project, aligning it with the Sunshine Coast Council City Hall as McNab’s second contribution to the CBD development.
Designed under the new Greenstar rating tool – Green Star Buildings – Maroochy Private Hospital aims for a best practice four-star rating.
This emphasises factors like clean air, light quality, healthy building materials, acoustic comfort, and a connection to nature.
As the 10th project in Maroochydore City Centre, Australia’s largest greenfield CBD, Maroochy Private Hospital is set to be completed by the end of 2025.
This progress adds to the city centre’s transformation under the historic agreement between the Sunshine Coast Council, Walker Corporation, and SunCentral Maroochydore, with more development anticipated over the next 15 to 20 years.
