In preparation for International Women’s Day, the Queensland Police Service hosted a fully booked recruiting seminar last March 4 at Broadbeach PCYC.

The Gold Coast Police event showcased an all-female panel, underscoring QPS’s commitment to fostering diversity and inclusivity within law enforcement.
The QPS recruiting information seminar aims to reach out and discuss the importance of having a career in the police force.
It also aims to show prospects that it is both rewarding and challenging to start a police career.
Seminar presenters include:
- Regional Recruiting Officer (RRO) Claire Puia-Prebble
- District Crime Prevention Co-Ordinator Senior Constable Margaux O’Reilly
- Youth Club Manager Sergeant Cherie McLean.
Senior Constable O’Reilly and Sergeant McLean shared insights into their careers and experiences as female officers. Senior Constable Margaux O’Reilly also highlighted parallels between female attributes and the qualities needed within the service.
Gold Coast seminar tickets sold out within days, highlighting the growing interest in pursuing a challenging and rewarding policing career with the Queensland Police Service (QPS).
The initiative sought to inspire women considering careers in policing and highlighted the vital role they play in the force.
