Recently a Federal Member announced a $15 million funding boost to kickstart stage 1B of the Northern Beaches Community Hub.
Federal Member for Dawson Andrew Willcox made the $15 million funding boost announcement for stage 1B of the Northern Beaches Community Hub, thanks to the Australian Government’s Growing Regions Program.
This comes as stage 1A construction progresses, with design work by CA Architects showcasing plans for a library, meeting rooms, and a café.
Mayor Greg Williamson noted that stage 1A, led by Fergus Builders with a $10.2 million tender, includes a multi-purpose court, nature play spaces, and more.
Construction began in March and aims for completion by May 2025.
“This project is vital for our region’s fastest-growing area,” said Mayor Williamson, highlighting extensive community input.
Willcox emphasised the hub’s role in supporting the expanding population in the northern suburbs, calling the funding a “huge win” for the Mackay community.
