The boardwalk’s enhancement complements recent improvements to the adjacent training wall and Tallebudgera Creek Park.
The upgrade entails replacing the current 2-meter boardwalk with a new 4-meter-wide deck, featuring amenities such as seating, lighting, and a viewing platform, along with the addition of 30 new trees and coastal vegetation.
Additionally, new support piers will be built, accompanied by a small rock wall for erosion protection.
Funded by a $2,473,650 grant from the Australian Government’s Local Roads and Community Infrastructure Program, the boardwalk renewal and upgrade are underway Monday to Friday from 7 am to 5 pm, resulting in temporary closure of access along the boardwalk and beach between Tallebudgera Creek Park and the dog off-leash area.
A temporary detour through the Gold Coast Highway and nearby surf club is provided during construction, with the project anticipated to conclude in August this year.
Recent enhancements at Tallebudgera Creek Park include new pathways and enhanced beach access, upgraded public amenities, the addition of a ‘Changing Places’ facility to facilitate reduced mobility access, improved barbecue and picnic areas, and enhanced landscaping.
