RAAF Base Townsville is opening its doors on Friday, March 22, 2024, inviting the community to a day of adventure and discovery.
RAAF Base Townsville Community Open Day
From 10 am to 2 pm, attendees can explore Australian Defence Force aircraft, and military equipment, and engage with serving members.
While the event is free, tickets are required to manage attendance. Refreshments will be available.
Due to the lack of onsite parking, Defence will operate a bus service to facilitate public transportation to the RAAF Townsville Museum entrance located on Ingham Road.
Buses will start at 09:45 from the following locations
- Mather Street bus stop (Bayswater Road opposite Brothers Football Club), Highfields
- Corner of Dalrymple Service Road and Yarrowee Street, Currajong
- Ingham Road (Opposite Brown and Hurley Trucks), West End
- King Street bus stop Showgrounds, Townsville CBD
Buses will conclude at 3 pm.
