Redland City, QLD – The Redland Performing Arts Centre (RPAC) is set to host its first-ever Kids Takeover from June 26 to 29, transforming into a vibrant hub of creativity and excitement.
Kids Take Over Redland Arts Centre for Four Days of Fun
The Redland City event promises four days of thrilling educational activities tailored to children and their families.
Redland City Council Mayor Jos Mitchell highlighted the program’s focus on offering engaging and affordable holiday experiences. “This special event features a variety of ticketed shows and free activities designed to ignite children’s curiosity and imagination through creative expression and fun,” she said.
RPAC Programming Manager Brett Howe, who crafted the schedule, emphasised the importance of catering to children’s unique ways of engaging with the world. “We’re creating spaces where kids can explore, move, and express themselves freely,” Howe said.
Activities range from morning shows and circus acts to interactive workshops in the afternoon, ensuring a full day of immersive learning and entertainment.
The lineup includes dazzling magic performances, acrobatics, interactive workshops by Showmen, and the lively Brat Kids Carnival featuring hula hoops and clowning antics.
Children’s entertainer Lucas Proudfoot will lead a musical adventure with animated projections, and the biology-themed comedy show “You Are a Doughnut” will explore the digestive system in a fun way.

Families can also enjoy hands-on art sessions with Chez Beauvardia.
Mr. Howe explained that the program is inspired by modern educational theories, particularly Howard Gardner’s concept of multiple intelligences, to create an inclusive and effective learning environment.
Tickets for individual shows and day passes are available.
