The Miles Government has boosted two major projects in the Townsville-Mount Isa Corridor, collectively offering over 5500 job opportunities.
Major Projects for Job Creation
Two major projects are put into focus by the Queensland government bolstering job opportunities in the Townsville – Mount Isa corridor and surrounding areas.
Project Green Poly
A substantial $7.8 billion investment, Project Green Poly, is set to be one of Australia’s pioneering integrated mine-to-manufacturing polysilicon supply chains.
This venture is projected to generate approximately 4400 employment opportunities in Townsville and its surrounding areas throughout its construction and operational phases expected to span 30 years.
Eva Copper Mine Project
Situated close to Mt Isa and Cloncurry, the Eva Copper Mine Project will introduce a fresh avenue for copper mining and smelting, bolstering regional resources for solar, wind, and battery energy production.
Expected to run for a minimum of 15 years, the project is forecasted to create up to 1,250 employment opportunities for its construction and operational phases, while also prolonging the lifespan of local copper mining and smelting employment prospects.
