Toowoomba Regional Council (TRC) is calling for public feedback this month on the upcoming Toowoomba Region Economic Development Strategy 2024-2029.
According to Toowoomba Region Mayor Cr Geoff McDonald, this strategy will serve as a blueprint for bolstering the region’s vibrancy, livability, and economic expansion in the years to come.
Mayor McDonald urged businesses, industry leaders, and the wider community to participate in the review process, emphasising the strategy’s importance in guiding the region’s ongoing economic development and attracting potential investors.
“The new strategy aims to position our region as a globally competitive, dynamic, and inclusive economy, offering employment, entrepreneurial, and investment opportunities that enrich our lifestyle and environment,” Mayor McDonald stated.
He highlighted the significance of community engagement in the review, stressing the council’s commitment to collaborating with various stakeholders to address future growth and enhance the region’s quality of life.
During this consultation phase, TRC will conduct targeted focus groups to gather insights from business and industry leaders.
Additionally, Toowoomba community members are encouraged to provide feedback by visiting the Council’s YourSay page, accessible from May 13 at https://yoursay.tr.qld.gov.au.
The survey will remain open from Monday, May 13 to Friday, May 24, 2024.
