A 10-member board, comprising individuals with expertise in primary health, business, general practice, education, and law, has been appointed to oversee the Townsville Hospital and Health Service (HHS).

Tony Mooney AM will still head the board. He has been the chair since 2016.
Mr. Mooney will be accompanied on the board by fresh additions, including Professor Kunwarjit Sangla, Dr. Erin Waters, and Graham Pattel.
Minister for Health, Mental Health, and Ambulance Services, as well as Minister for Women, Shannon Fentiman, made the announcement recently.
The newly formed board, responsible for establishing strategic direction and supervising the operations of the Townsville Hospital and Health Service, includes:
- Anthony (Tony) Mooney AM (Chair)
- Debra Burden
- Georgina Whelan
- Michelle Morton
- Nicole Hayes
- Professor Kunwarjit Sangla
- Dr Erin Waters
- Graham Pattel
- Luke Guazzo
Mrs. Michelle Morton, Ms. Georgina Whelan, Mrs. Debra Burden, and Ms. Nicole Hayes have been reappointed for another term, joining two other members who are still serving within their current term.
