Redland City Council, in partnership with the Department of Employment, Small Business and Training (DESBT), is expanding the successful Small Business Hub program to a second location.
Starting August 1, free information sessions will be available at Victoria Point Library.
Mayor Jos Mitchell announced that sessions will be held on the first Thursday of each month from 10 AM to 2 PM. Additional support will be available online and over the phone.
“Our small businesses are vital to the Redlands Coast economy, providing jobs, attracting investment, and delivering essential goods and services,” said Mayor Mitchell. “We want to ensure these businesses have every opportunity to succeed.”
The expansion aims to replicate the success of the Cleveland Library hub, which has been aiding businesses since March 2023. With two hubs, support for local businesses will be available more frequently.
Sessions at the Cleveland Library will continue on the third Thursday of each month from 10 AM to 2 PM. Together, the two hubs will offer fortnightly sessions across Redlands Coast.
The program provides a variety of services, including:
- Access to complimentary small business resources and support
- Guidance on tendering and supplying to the government
- Information on grants and financial assistance
- Workforce development and capability building
- Support from the Queensland Small Business Commissioner’s Office
