The Redland City Council is proud to introduce an exciting initiative at the city’s libraries, aiming to attract Australia’s top speakers and writers to the vibrant Redlands Coast community.
Literary Initiative for the Redland City Community
“Authors in Conversation” is an innovative concept set to debut at Cleveland, Capalaba, and Victoria Point Libraries in March. This initiative involves an author conducting an insightful interview with a featured author, diving into discussions about their latest work.
The series has already confirmed eight writers, kicking off with acclaimed romance novelists Penelope Janu and Stella Quinn scheduled for an engaging session at Victoria Point Library tomorrow, Monday, March 4th.
“Authors in conversation” will complement “Author Talk” which has already drawn Australia’s leading fiction and non-fiction writers to Redland City.
Seven crime writers are set to headline Author Talk and Authors in Conversation sessions in March and April
Other writers and authors scheduled to appear are:
- Novelist Kerryn Mayne will join Elizabeth Coleman in conversation at Capalaba Library on Saturday 9 March to discuss her latest book Joy Moody is Out of Time
- Dinuka McKenzie will speak with Poppy Gee about Tipping Point at Cleveland Library on Monday 11 March.
- Bonnie Hancock, the first Australian woman to paddle around the continent, presents her biography “The Girl Who Touched the Stars” at Victoria Point Library on Saturday, April 13.
- Olympic swimmer Lisa Curry and naturopath Jeff Butterworth will discuss their upcoming book “Happy Healthy You” at Cleveland Library on May 1 at 10 am.
Authors in Conversation and Author Talk are free to the public but booking would be a good idea.
