Redland City Council is now accepting applications for its 2024-2025 Sponsorship Program. 

Mayor Jos Mitchell announced that the program aims to support a range of events and initiatives that attract both residents and visitors to the city.

“Council offers two rounds of sponsorship each year, providing both funding and in-kind support to help local organizations, community groups, and individuals hold activities that benefit our community,” Mayor Mitchell said. “These activities can include everything from sporting, cultural, and music events to expos and conferences.”

The Redland City Council also funds Quandamooka cultural awareness activities, including dancers, cultural demonstrations, and smoking ceremonies at sponsored events.

The available funding categories are:

  • Minor sponsorship: $15,000 or under
  • Major sponsorship: $15,001 to $30,000
  • Quandamooka Cultural Awareness Funding: Up to $1,500

Applicants can also request in-kind support such as venue hire, temporary entertainment event permit fees, traffic control permit fees, or marketing and promotion.

Applications close on August 18, 2024, with a second round opening in February 2025.

Last year, the Council awarded almost $242,000 in sponsorship and $12,600 in Quandamooka Cultural Awareness funding for 20 events.
