Severe thunderstorms struck the South East overnight, bringing heavy rainfall and continuing into today.
Areas such as the Scenic Rim, Logan, and Ipswich were particularly affected, with over 100mm of rain in just one hour reported in Logan.
The Bureau of Meteorology predicts widespread rain to persist until next week, with over 140mm expected for the Gold Coast in the coming days.
The region also faces the possibility of severe thunderstorms today, potentially causing further heavy downpours.
