A diverse nine-person board has been appointed to the Gold Coast Hospital and Health Service (HHS). The new members have experience in health, business, education, and law.

Minister for Health, Mental Health and Ambulance Services and Minister for Women Shannon Fentiman announced the new board and said “The Gold Coast Hospital and Health Board has secured an exceptional group of individuals this year.”
Professor Cindy Shannon AM will lead the new board as announced by Health Minister Fentiman.
Professor Shannon, renowned for her lifelong dedication to advancing Indigenous health and education, brings extensive expertise as an educator to her role.
Currently serving as Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Indigenous, Diversity and Inclusion) at Griffith University and holding the title of Emeritus Professor at the University of Queensland, her contributions have been widely acknowledged and celebrated.
Professor Shannon will be joined by new board members Adjunct Professor Michael Hogan and Daile Kelleher.
Mr. Hogan, a seasoned legal practitioner and educator with vast experience in government and statutory boards, brings invaluable expertise to the team.
Ms. Kelleher, the current Chief Executive Officer of Children by Choice, brings extensive experience in women’s health to enrich the board’s perspectives.
Additionally, Professor Judith (Judy) Searle, Ms. Colette McCool PSM, and Professor Nicholas Zwar have renewed their membership for another term, joining three continuing members still within their current term.
The newly appointed board, tasked with setting the strategic direction and overseeing the management of the Gold Coast Hospital and Health Service, comprises:
