Construction for the next phase of the Woodlands District Park project in Andergrove is poised to commence, led by Vassallo Constructions acting on behalf of the Mackay Regional Council.
Weather permitting, work is scheduled to begin in mid-April, marking the initiation of phase two of this eagerly anticipated project.
The recently completed first phase of stage one involved significant enhancements such as drainage improvements, path construction, installation of barbecue facilities, and lighting upgrades.
Phase two aims to further elevate the park’s amenities by introducing a 300-meter multipurpose track and public toilet facilities, alongside complementary landscaping initiatives.
Mayor Greg Williamson expressed confidence that these developments would transform Mackay’s Woodlands District Park into a coveted destination for leisure and social gatherings, particularly appealing to residents of Andergrove and Beaconsfield.
