The Crisafulli Government has launched a landmark Parliamentary Inquiry to support Queensland’s volunteers, with consultation officially opening today.
Volunteers and community organisations are invited to share their experiences and insights to help shape the sector’s future.
The Inquiry, a key commitment from the Government’s 100 Day Plan, aims to address declining volunteer participation—down over 10% in the past three years.
It will identify challenges, remove barriers, and explore pathways to boost volunteering.
Minister for Volunteers Ann Leahy urged volunteers and organisations to contribute, highlighting their vital role. “Our government is listening, and the voices of frontline volunteers are crucial to reversing the decline,” she said.
The Committee’s final report will be delivered to the government by September 2025.
