The Queensland Police Service welcomed almost 100 new officers who graduated from the Queensland Police Academy in Oxley.
This marked the beginning of their careers in law enforcement.
New Police Officers for Queensland
Acting Police Commissioner Steve Gollschewski extended a warm welcome to the 97 new constables, congratulating them on completing their training.
The new officers are the first recruits to swear the newly revised oath and affirmation during their induction, highlighting QPS’ renewed dedication to community service.
Additionally, they are the first to adopt the updated statement of ethics, underscoring the QPS commitment to respecting human rights.
The graduating class, with diverse professional and cultural backgrounds, brings a wealth of experience and skills, along with numerous legacies, as they embark on their law enforcement careers.
After an intensive eight-month training at the Academy, the newly graduated officers are set to be stationed at various locations across Queensland.
Presently, there are 619 recruits undergoing training statewide, with a substantial pool of 1,958 applicants eagerly awaiting acceptance decisions.
